The East Tennessee ACS Local section covers 13 counties in East Tennessee and has approximately 600 members. Our section is home to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, several four-year and community colleges, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the Y-12 National Security Complex. Arconics and Dow Chemical Companies have plants in the area. The ETS-ACS is bordered by three local sections, Northeast Tennessee, Chattanooga, and Western Carolinas.

ETS-ACS participates in the National Chemistry Week, the Chemists Celebrate Earth Day, and the Chemistry Olympiad programs. In addition to our Spring Awards Banquet honoring the area’s outstanding students, educators, and section members, our annual S.C. Lind Lecture Series brings in outstanding scientists and researchers.We are a local organization that provides support and expertise within the local community, to potential volunteers, existing volunteers, and organizations that involve volunteers.
